Lucky No. 7

March 18th 2009
The first day of full operations for Evolve Personal Fitness
Over the past 7 years I have had more lessons than I can count.  There have always been challenges and I am sure there always will be in the coming years.  But what I have always been grateful for over the years are all of those who have allowed me and trusted me to do what I love to help them.
One of the biggest lessons that I have learned as a business owner, husband, father as a person is appreciate your accomplishments.  If you are always looking ahead and not appreciating how far you have come or what you have overcome can you truly appreciate your accomplishments.
You see I wasn’t even going to acknowledge this anniversary.
I was going to treat it as any other day.
But that would be wrong.
It would be the old way of operating.
Putting my head down forging ahead ignoring what is good…if not GREAT all around me.
So, I took some time and appreciated the journey it has been over the past 7 years and had a beer.
The question is then where in your life are you not appreciating yourself, your accomplishments, or the ones that matter the most to you.
I would have you consider that you will struggle moving ahead if you don’t remember where you have come from.
If you have followed these emails at all you also know that living in the past doesn’t fix anything, that’s not what I am telling you to do, just appreciate the strides you have made.
I get it, it’s not easy to look back and marvel in your wins.  Especially if you feel you haven’t gotten to where you want to be.  But I will guarantee you one thing, if you don’t, you will redline yourself.  Constantly pushing and pushing you will never feel satisfied.  It will be a constant cycle of never being good enough.
Take it from me
Been there done that.
And all it brought me was stress, anxiety, and disappointment in myself.
And none of it was necessary
Whether it’s a work, dating, marriage, workout, running, eating clean anniversary, stopped smoking, stopped drinking anniversary.  No matter how trivial it may seem,
Appreciate YOU and what you have done.
Hell throw yourself a little party if you want!!
